Alex Hamberger & The Works is led by Atlanta-based electric bassist, composer, and producer Alex Hamberger. Alex holds an MFA in electric bass from the California Institute of the Arts. His music sits at the intersection of jazz, world music, rock, and groove; eclectic but immediately accessible, drawing on influences from West African rhythms and Brazilian samba to Balkan folk and American jazz and blues. The Works features touring members of the Renaissance Orchestra, Orchestra Noir, and Simply Irresistible, and is equally at home in intimate listening rooms and large event spaces alike.
Together, these two bass-led collectives bring a deep bench of live performance experience to one stage for a night celebrating one of America’s greatest musical voices – Herbie Hancock.
